１つ前の記事に「長尺音声が配信可能な無料のホスティング・サーヴィスを探していた」と書きましたが、それは、僕が毎週日曜 Mixlr から生配信している「ナマひげ90分！」のアーカイヴ問題と関係があります。なんたって生配信は「ナマで聴くのが本筋」ですから「過去音声の配信は邪道」と言えなくもありません。しかし、すべての人が「決められた曜日の決められた時刻」に、パソコンやスマートフォンに耳を傾けられるワケではないので、ナマで聴けなかった人のために「ここへ行けばいつでも過去音声が聴けますよ」という場所が設けてあります。
「ナマヒゲ」の過去音声は、Mixlr と Mixcloud の２カ所にアーカイヴされていて、好きな時に好きなだけストリーミング再生できます。ただ、Wi-Fi 環境下ならそれでも問題ないんですが、Wi-Fi の使えない場所（たとえば移動中のクルマや電車など）で聴こうとすると、途端にパケット通信料が発生するため、うっかり長尺の番組なんか聴いちゃうと破産してしまいます。
いま使っているアーカイヴ置き場に、ダウンロード機能さえあれば「すべて解決♪」なんですが、Mixlr も Mixcloud もストリーミングでしか聴けません。百歩譲って、せめてフィードだけでも用意してくれてたらポッドキャスト配信できるんですが。
「90分を超える音声コンテンツを無料でポッドキャスト配信する」‥‥はい、これはかなり虫のいい話です。世の中そんなに甘くない‥‥と、諦めかけていた時に見つけたのが、前の記事に書いた「Whooshkaa」というサーヴィスでした。で、さっそく英語と格闘しながらアカウントの申請をしてみたところ、すぐに「サンキュー！ ちょっと待ってね」と返事が届き、一夜明けたら「オッケーイ！ 入っておいでよ」と温かく迎え入れてもらえました。
