ストリーミング・ラジオで流すための音楽を30曲ほど Jamendo からダウンロード。選曲センス抜群の僕が選んだ曲だけあって、勿論どれもいい曲なんですが、残念ながら曲によって音量がマチマチで、そのままの状態で配信すると、リスナーに迷惑かけてしまうほどの凸凹感。で、音量を揃えようと色んなアプリを試した結果、最終的に Audacity を使う事に。
対照的な２曲を並べてみました
波形を並べれば音量の違いは歴然
まずは波形の小さい上の曲だけ
「正規化（ノーマライズ）」してみます
これで少し改善したものの
まだ小さいので
ダメ押しのコンプレッサー
圧縮して音圧を上げる作戦
実はこれでもまだ負けてたので
再度圧縮してみたんですが
音がちょっと不自然になった気がしたので
Undo してコンプレッサーは１度だけに
で、これが最終的な波形
作業前に比べれば少し貫禄が出ました
下の曲の波形と比べればまだ貧弱だけど
そもそも下の曲の音圧が極端に高過ぎるんです
複数の曲を一気に書き出せるのが
Audacity の便利なところですが
バグなんでしょうか？
一気に何曲か書き出すと
アーティスト名とアルバム名に不具合が出るようです

Professional sound engineer miduno who read this article got a comment on Facebook and recommended immediately that "Maximizer may be more suitable for compressor than that from compressor for that purpose" from professional sound engineer miduno Download "LoudMax" plugin. I added a function to Audacity and tried it. Indeed this certainly could be used ♪ Truly a rice cake shop. I used a compressor this time, but I will try challenging with Maximizer next time.
