海外ではポッドキャスト系のイヴェントがたびたび開催されていますが、来月（2018年２月８日〜10日）にはアメリカのフロリダ州オーランドで、1000人以上のコンテンツ制作者が参加する「Podfest Multimedia Expo」が開催されます。
今回で４回目となるこのイヴェントの狙いは、ポッドキャスターやコンテンツ制作者間でアイディアを交換し、新しいチャンス、サーヴィス、テクノロジーと出会い、ワークフローやコンテンツの品質向上に役立つヒントやテクニックを提供する事‥‥だそうです。
参加費は一般で337ドル、VIP だと677ドル、インナー･サークルと呼ばれる最高クラスだと1500ドルもします。なにしろ会場は高級リゾート地ですし、われわれ庶民には縁遠いイヴェントかもしれませんが、特にアメリカなどでは、今回ご紹介した「Podfest Multimedia Expo」の他にも、いくつかのイヴェントが毎年開催されています。今のところ日本のポッドキャスト界は「蚊帳の外」という状況ですが（苦笑）
