僕はもっぱら Mac の iTunes を使っているので、iPhone や Android などからポッドキャストを楽しむ事はほとんどないんですが、主に検証目的で自分のスマホ（iPhone と Android）にも、ポッドキャスト系の無料アプリを入れています。日常的にバリバリ使っているワケではないので、自信を持って「このアプリがオススメです」とは言えないんですが。とりあえず今僕の Android 端末にインストールしてあるアプリは、「RadioPublic」「Podcast Addict」「Stitcher」「Poddirectory」この４つです。
それぞれに個性があるので、実際にインストールして使い心地を確認の上で選んでいただくのが１番だと思いますが、どれも海外のアプリなので、メニューなどは基本的に英語表記となります。また、実はコレが結構重要な点だと思うんですが、もしアナタが番組を配信中のポッドキャスターなら、まずはそれぞれのアプリ内にある検索機能を使って、ご自分の番組が登録されているかどうかを確認してみてください。たいていのアプリは、Apple が運営する iTunes Store から番組データを引っ張って来て、独自のカタログを作っていると思われるので、もしアナタの番組が既に iTunes Store に登録済みであれば、アプリ内のカタログにも掲載されている可能性が高いんですが、登録漏れが起きている場合もあるようです。僕の配信している番組も、すべて iTunes Store に登録済みなのに、一部の番組がアプリのカタログに反映されていない事がありました。アプリによっては、カタログ掲載を申請するためのリクエストフォームが用意されている事があるので、そこから「私の番組も掲載してちょーだい」とリクエストを送れば、掲載されるはずです。
基本的に、これらのアプリは「ポッドキャストを聴くため」に利用される事がほとんどでしょうが、配信者にとっては「自分の番組をアピールするためのツール」でもあり、世界のポッドキャスト･リスナーが、どんな番組を好んで聴いているのかを知るための「マーケティング･ツール」でもあります。
