ポッドキャストを聴くのに必要なものは何でしょうか？ iPod？ 答えは No。iPod は「Podcast」の語源にもなっているので、つい必須と思われがちですが、iPod を持っていなくてもポッドキャストを楽しむ事はできます。あなたのパソコンに iTunes がインストールしてあればオッケーです。もちろん iTunes 以外の「対応ソフト」でも構いませんが、iTunes が１番簡単でしょう。iTunes なら Apple のサイトから無料でダウンロードできますし、Windows 用もちゃんと出ています。しかし「パソコンを持ってないんですけど」「パソコンよりケータイ派なんですけど」って人も多いようですし、Web サイトの閲覧もメールのやり取りも、音楽をダウンロードして聴くのも、大抵の事はケータイでできちゃう御時世です。そんなケータイ族のアナタに朗報。「ポッドケー」というケータイサイトが登場しました。
物は試しでさっそく「ポッドケー」にアクセス。トップページにはオススメ番組とかが並んでますが、僕の番組がそこに入ってるワケないので「Fredio」と入力して検索すると‥‥おっ、出てきました！ ではさっそく音声ファイルをダウンロードしてみましょう。「ファイルを受け取る」の欄をクリックすると、すぐにダウンロードが始まりました。ただ、この流れはケータイのキャリアによって違うようで、ドコモ以外はそのまんまダウンロードが始まりますが、ドコモの場合は音声データがメールに添付されて送られてくるようです。10秒かかるかかからないかでダウンロード完了。なるほどねぇ‥‥サイトのデザインは僕にはちょっとファンシー過ぎて気恥ずかしい気分もしますが、10代の女性などには馴染みやすいテイストなのかもしれません。意外にあっけなく聴けちゃったので、いささか拍子抜け（笑）でしたが、この「スンナリ感」はとても大切だと思います。
ただ、残念なのはサイト内で視聴できない点。それがどんな番組なのかは、ダウンロードされた音声を聴くまでわからないんです。そのうえダウンロードできるのは最新の音声だけで、過去配信分をさかのぼる事ができません。ま、このあたりは今後改良されるのかも知れませんが「新規リスナーを自分の配信サイトに誘導するための入口」と考えれば「それもあり」なのかも知れません。
